Its a show on national geographic which i try to watch most of the times. Also on Discovery there is a show, Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking; both show are giving awesome knowledge about universe and space and more importantly time.
In an episode, Stephen Hawking talked about time travel and time dilation and related things. This was the time when I got into time dilation which landed me into Relativity. General and Specific Relativity.
General Relativity (GR) predicts that clocks in a stronger gravitational field will tick at a slower rate. Special Relativity (SR) predicts that moving clocks will appear to tick slower than non-moving ones.
Not going into much detail of what little I read so far, but about 25th January's episode, which cleared my concept about time and is helping me learn relativity concept.
Few points is what I would like to mention--
1. Speed of Light is constant;
2. Time and Space form a fabric, which can be tempered with;
3. Once very near to black hole, you can't escape even with speed of light;
4. No one has seen black holes, but it is assumed it exists;
5. You can never cross speed of light;
6. Worm hole is like a tunnel or shortcut in time and/or space;
7. Through worm hole you can reach at a place faster than speed of light, even though you are going slower than speed of light and it is because worm hole cuts down the distance.
Major improvement in your writing. I liked, in particular, the (un)intentional stance of keeping the texting-style writing at bay.

On relativity, well, I am already dwarfed by the scale of its beauty (Yes, the scale).
Thanks for compliment. Seriously want study as much as possible about cosmos and related things. At least we must be clear about basic terminology and few principles.

ReplyDeleteWe haven’t explored this sphere after our foray into engineering.
I think we should also read as much about what’s happening inside (Nucleus) as outside( Universe).
The LHC and the fuss on bosons would be more comprehensible then.
